Here's just a small sampling of the projects we’ve completed in the recent past.

creation of the ‘snack room’

Former residents might remember this room as any number of spaces… the room behind the double doors as you came down the side stairwell close to the kitchen. It’s served as an exercise room, a craft room, where you made your late night grilled cheese in the toaster oven… you name it, this room as served that function. In the summer months of 2022, it was renovated to provide a flexible space for women to gather, store and prepare their own food items, or meet up for a snack when the kitchen is closed.

reimagining the informal living room

The ‘Big Green Couch’ has been a recruitment talking point for decades because it was our favorite place to gather any time of the day with housemates, chapter members, friends, and family. Many movie marathons and ‘therapy sessions’ happened here, and continue to! To increase flexible space for the current chapter, it was lightly redesigned to include additional seating options and provide a flexible floor plan for when needs change. Of course this room was ‘recruitment ready’ for the most recent primary recruitment season (January 2023).

an update to ‘the fishbowl’

Arguably the one spot in the house where you can be heard from everywhere, ‘The Fishbowl’ is an informal seating area located on the second floor landing near the beloved Balcony door. It was a time for an update so our sisters could gather, chat, and look out onto E 15th Avenue anytime of day! (January 2023)
